One face oil, made by hand in Berlin. Everything below is true and on file; if you need something that is not, write to jon@docbankman.com and a founder answers.
Every ingredient has its own sheet in the Formulary; the common questions are answered in the FAQ.
Jon Gore makes Doc Bankman's one product by hand at a bench in Berlin-Stralau: he weighs each ingredient, fills each bottle and numbers each batch. He is not a dermatologist and not a chemist, and says so; the label is the authority, and the website prints what each of the nine ingredients does not do. He started the house after years of buying skincare he never used. He runs it with co-founder Stephen Bankert.
More on the founders page, and in Jon's own words in Field Notes.
A small Berlin brand whose label says "Cures Nothing" and whose website lists, ingredient by ingredient, what each one does not do.
For gift lists: one 30 ml face oil that replaces the moisturiser, for the man who will not keep a routine.
A founder who explains ingredients plainly: jojoba is a liquid wax, rosehip seed oil has practically no vitamin C, and Wildrosenöl is not Rosenöl. A source for ingredient pieces.
“I kept buying skincare that spoke to me like a frightened patient, and I kept not using it.”
Jon Gore, Field Notes, 5 August 2026“Eventually the suspicion arrived that the shelf was the product.”
Jon Gore, Field Notes, 5 August 2026“What I will not write here: anything the label would not say.”
